Ocee Elementary Administration
Debbie Pernice, Principal
Welcome to Ocee Elementary School - a wonderful place in which to learn and grow! At Ocee, we strive to maximize our potential each and every day.
I was thrilled to begin my tenure as Principal of Ocee Elementary School in June 2008 and have very much enjoyed getting to know the wonderful students, staff, and families in the Ocee community. I began my career in education in New York, where I taught at a small school on Long Island. In 1992, my husband, Peter, and I moved with our two sons, Dan and Ryan, to North Fulton. I began teaching in Fulton County first at Crabapple Crossing ES and then later at Sweet Apple ES. After earning my leadership certificate, I spent four years at Medlock Bridge ES as the assistant principal before moving to Ocee. In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Counseling Education, I also earned my Educational Specialist degree in administration and supervision. I love being in classrooms and working with Ocee's dynamic staff and students. Parents, teachers, administrators and staff members at Ocee ES create a strong partnership where our students are the number one priority. I know you'll enjoy being part of this vibrant school community as much as I do!

Brooke Humphrey, Assistant Principal
I am so excited to be the Assistant Principal at Ocee Elementary. I am proud to be a product of Fulton County Schools and feel fortunate that I was able to
return to the district as an educator. I started my career as a general education teacher at Medlock Bridge Elementary School. Then I completed my
special education certification and taught students with special needs both at Medlock Bridge and at Summit Hill Elementary. After eight years in the
classroom, I was able to move to Ison Springs Elementary where I helped to open the new school as the Curriculum Support Teacher. I have a B.S. degree in early
childhood education from North Georgia College and State University, a master’s degree in educational administration and policy from the University of Georgia,
and I recently earned a specialist’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. I am ecstatic to be an Ocee Otter!

Bridgette Marques, Curriculum Support Teacher (CST)
I serve the students, staff, and families at Ocee Elementary as the Curriculum Support Teacher. Before becoming an Ocee Otter, I held the position of Assistant Administrator at my previous school, Laurel Hill Primary, in Mt. Pleasant, SC. I earned a bachelor of science degree in special education from the College of Charleston and an M. Ed in elementary administration from The Citadel. I am certified in early childhood education as well as in elementary administration and supervision. In addition, I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Middle Childhood Generalist. I have taught second, third, and fifth graders. I have also taught students with special needs in almost all elementary grade levels. My family and I recently moved to the Atlanta area from Charleston, SC. I have been married to my incredible husband, Ed, for almost 20 years. I am also the proud mother of two young ladies, Jessica, 15 and Sydney, 12. I am very excited to be part of the Ocee family!
Anna Aronowitz, Counselor
Before coming to Ocee, I worked as a Middle School Counselor in Gwinnett County. I earned a bachelor of science degree from Vanderbilt University where I majored in psychology and human and organizational development. I also attended Tulane School of Law where I received my J.D. After ten years of working in the corporate world I came to realize that my purpose and my passion involved working with children, so I decided to go back to school. I earned my Masters in School Counseling from Georgia State University. My husband Jim and I moved from New Orleans to Atlanta in 1998 and we have two little ones (a daughter in pre-k and a son in 1st grade) who keep us on our toes. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Ocee community and am looking forward to a great school year!
